Her carbuncle is an expression of her own personality, but made separate. It reacts to people and things the way Wyra would without inhibition. Wyra doesn't like people to know this and tries to temper it, but it "has a mind of its own!"

What is a Violet Mage?
A violet mage (VLM) is a class that combines elements of most magic classes into a purple- and magic-themed all-rounder. It was created for Wyra as a Warrior of Light but can be additionally weakened to be used by anyone else/non-WOL RP accepting of all-rounders :)It takes aspects from RDM, WHM, SCH, BLM, PLD, BLU, and SMN. It takes its name from it being a twist on red magic and blue magic, as well as that Wyra's aether is purple and colors everything.Versatility is the focus, and a violet mage is able to learn and work with many varieties of magic similarly to a BLU. The primary weapon is a staff-rapier (like RDM, but minus the focus) with some occasional assistance for more complicated attacks/channeling from SMN/SCH books. A violet mage uses their own aether to create and maintain a carbuncle as their spell focus, but, using ley lines, they can pull extra aether from the environment when pressed.They do not summon egis like a SMN (their carbuncle typically stays as an aether-colored carbuncle), but instead use elemental-aspected attacks like BLM/RDM.Their carbuncle can also serve as a focus for healing like a scholar's fairy, or the violet mage can reshape the aether into a shield when tanking is needed.Violet mages are a "fill-in" healer or tank with limited proficiency, but can take the roles in a pinch. When focused on the white magic needed for healing, their defense and offense are greatly reduced, and similarly, creating and maintaining a shield for tanking reduces offense and removes most healing capabilities.When taking the tank role, it behaves largely like a flavored PLD, using the aether shield and original rapier. They are a bit less sturdy and rely on parrying with magical thrusts more than absorbing blows.Theoretically, the carbuncle aether could be manipulated into other shapes (scythe, axe, etc.) as needed to add a melee element, but physical strength is much lower than magical and melee attacks will suffer from their lower defense.

Limit Break: BLM-like. Draws from leylines to charge up an extremely powerful blast of elemental magic.Strengths:

Speed: flurries of weak magical attacks to overwhelm versus slow and devastating attacks; can perform larger and more powerful attacks when given time

Can choose to focus on healing or tanking if necessary, at detriment to other capabilities
Weaknesses:
Low defense except when tanking; low defense for a tank
Healing is mostly regen-focused with some bursts; not good for prolonged fights
Unable to combine stronger heals/attacks/defensive moves and has to focus on one role overall
Limited to one's own aether except for occasional bursts using leylines
Low raw physical strength; relies on magic to enhance speed and dexterity
